Dorothy Eloise Davis

	Dorothy Eloise Davis, 80, of Vergennes, passed away Monday, December 24, 2001 at 4:23 a.m. at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
	Mrs.  Davis was a retired cook.  During her lifetime she had cooked for the former Brown Shoe Co. in Murphysboro, St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro and had been a substitute cook for the Elverado School District.  She was a member of the Wesleyn United Methodist Church in Vergennes for 80 years.  She was also a member of the Wesleyn Womens Society and the Vergennes Senior citizens.  Mrs. Davis was a long-time contributor of Vergennes news to the DuQuoin Evening Call.
	 She was born January 26, 1921 in Vergennes, the daughter of Robert Ishom and Alice Maude (Robinson) Parrish.  She married Clifton Glenn Davis Sr. on December 21, 1941 at Jackson, Mo.
	Surviving are her husband, Clifton Glenn Davis Sr. of Vergennes; son, Clifton Glenn Davis Jr. and wife Pat of DuQuoin; daughter, Delores Ogolini and husband Leo of St. Charles, Mo.; grandchildren, Kim Wheeler and husband Wendell of DuQuoin, Tim Davis and wife Marcy of DuQuoin, Kris Ogolini and wife Christie of St. Louis, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Connor Wheeler and Macie Wheeler of DuQuoin, Jamison Davis and Aubrey Davis of DuQuoin; four brothers, Thomas V. Parrish, Ira E. Parrish, Paul W. Parrish of Carbondale and Wiley B. Parrish of Murphysboro; five sisters, Irene E. Shewmaker of Vergennes, Mary F. Ferguson of Phoenix, Ariz., Sarah I. Doerr of Murphysboro, Lula Belle Boulden of London, Kentucky and Sharon K. Maynor of Elkville and one uncle, John and wife Lennie Robinson of DuQuoin.
	She was preceded in death by her parents.
	Funeral services were Friday, December 28 at 11 a.m. at Wesleyn United Methodist Church with Rev. Earn Renshaw and Rev. Bill Wiggs officiating.  Interment was in Parrish Cemetery at Vergennes.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro and from 10 a.m. Friday until the hour of services at the church.
